Nets GC Earn Your Spot Tournament


·  Console: Cross Play (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S)

·  Game: NBA 2K24

·  Dates: Thursday, October 12, 2023, 8 p.m. EST (Rounds 1-3); Friday, October 13, 2023, 9 p.m. EST (Finals)

·  Entry: $70 per team, plus applicable credit card processing fees (all fees are non-refundable). Payment must be made via credit card and/or any other accepted form of payment in LeagueApps.

·  Teams must join NetsGC Discord upon registration. Team captain shall message @netsgamingcrew on X (formerly known as Twitter) or Instagram for an invite link to join NetsGC Discord

·  First 16 teams to fully register* and who meet the eligibility criteria herein will be selected to compete in the tournament. 

·  Day 1/Rounds 1-3: begins at 8 p.m. EST; next applicable round must begin as soon as the advancing teams complete their prior series round. 

·  Day 2/Finals: 9 p.m. EST 

·  Day 1 Rounds (Rounds 1-3) are each a series with a best of three (3) games; Finals are a series with a best of five (5) games.


*Fully registered is defined as (1) completing team registration via LeagueApps for all six (6) team members (including providing full name, email address, X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, date of birth, and phone number for all six (6) team members; and designating a team captain), (2) team joining NetsGC Discord, and (3) team submitting entry fee.


Scheduling

·  All games are four (4), five (5) minute quarters; overtime rounds (if applicable) are three (3) minutes each.

·  All games/series must abide by scheduled dates, times, and durations set forth herein.

·  A 15-minute grace period will be provided to each team at the start of each scheduled round. If a team fails to be available and ready to play at the commencement of a round, the delayed team will forfeit one (1) game for every 15-minutes that it is unavailable to play.

·  Team seeding shall be selected by NetsGC in its sole discretion. In the event less than 16 eligible teams register for the tournament, NetsGC reserves the right to conduct the tournament with less than 16 eligible teams.

Roster

·  Each team roster shall be comprised of five (5) players and one (1) substitute player; the names of these players shall be included in each team’s tournament entry registration.

·  Teams will not be able to make modifications to its team roster after tournament entry registration.

·  All players must be over the age of 18 by the date set forth in the NBA 2K League draft eligibility criteria in effect on the commencement date of the tournament.

·  Active NBA 2K League players are not eligible to play in this tournament and therefore, teams with active NBA 2K League players included in its roster will be disqualified.

·  No account sharing is allowed between team players and/or non-team participants. Discovery by NetsGC of account sharing will result in team forfeit and disqualification from this tournament. 

Gameplay

·  Gameplay shall be subject to the WR League, LLC (WR)/United Pro-Am (UPA) rules currently in effect on the scheduled date(s) of this tournament.  

·  All games shall be played in 5v5 UPA mode. 

·  Teams are prohibited from using the “Right Stick While in Man Defense” glitch.

·  Teams are prohibited from using any hardware/software modifications that provide an unfair competitive advantage (e.g., using a Zen)

Disconnects

·  All series games must be played to the end (i.e., to expiration of time in the final quarter/overtime (as applicable)) unless both team captains agree to conclude the current series game and move on to the next series game. 

·  In the event of game disconnection, teams will play a new game with “spread and time”; using streams as reference for point of disconnection (e.g., if the game disconnects with three (3) minutes left in the fourth quarter, and Team A was leading 50-47, then both teams will play a new game, Team A will be given a 3-point spread/advantage (i.e., 3 -points will be added to Team A’s final box score) and both teams will play the first three (3) minutes only, to determine the winner from the disconnected game. For the avoidance of doubt, a new game played with “spread and time” as the result of a disconnected game shall not count as a new game in the series but shall be one and the same as the disconnected game.

·  Teams MUST provide NetsGC with game box scores for ALL GAMES for all rounds played at the conclusion of each round, including losses. Screenshots of each series game final box score must be provided to NetsGC via direct message in the screenshots channel in the NetsGC Discord 

Streaming

·  Both teams must stream each series game played for the entire duration of each series game via Twitch and/or YouTube or as specified by NetsGC 

·  Day 1 (Rounds 1-3): NetsGC will broadcast each team’s streams on NetsGC’s Twitch/YouTube channels. Each team captain shall provide NetsGC with its streaming link in the NetsGC Discord.

·  Finals: NetsGC will exclusively stream finals; both teams must stream via a streaming link provided by NetsGC to finals team captains in the NetsGC Discord 

Branding

·  All courts must have “NetsGC Earn Your Spot” logo. The “Earn Your Spot” logo will be uploaded by NetsGC to the NBA 2K server for download by each team captain. Team captains shall be responsible for downloading the logo images and applying them to their team’s courts. 

·  Finals will be streamed by NetsGC (listen-ins needed) on the NetsGC streaming channel. Streaming link will be provided by NetsGC to finals team captains. NetsGC will coordinate with finals team captains to ensure audio feed is viable for production.

Prize

·  The team that wins the finals will be awarded $840 (75% of pot) (“Prize Money”); money will be delivered to finals winning team’s captain.  

·  Prize Money will be electronically deposited in finals winning team captain’s bank account. Finals winning team captain MUST complete an ACH form with banking information and W-9 to receive Prize Money. ACH form to be provided by NetsGC at conclusion of finals.

Miscellaneous 

·  NetsGC reserves right to change these rules, terms and conditions at any time without advanced notice. 

·  Team finalists may be required by NetsGC to appear on NetsGC’s streaming channels before and/or after the finals.
